Tier Structure & Milestones
How base pay and performance tiers work together.
How Tiers Work
Every PROOF contract has a base pay guarantee plus three performance tiers. This creates a fair structure where creators always earn something, but are rewarded significantly for exceptional performance.
- Base Pay — Guaranteed payment released when content is posted and verified. This compensates the creator for their time and effort regardless of performance.
- Tier 1 — The first performance milestone. If the tracked metric exceeds this threshold, the Tier 1 bonus is released.
- Tier 2 — A higher performance milestone with a larger bonus payout.
- Tier 3 — The maximum performance level with the largest bonus. Hitting Tier 3 means the creator delivered exceptional results.
Milestone Templates
PROOF offers four AI-designed milestone templates to help you set appropriate thresholds:
- 1Conservative — Higher base pay (60%), lower tier bonuses. Best for established creators where you want to guarantee fair compensation.
- 2Balanced — Equal distribution across base and tiers (40% base, 20/20/20 tiers). The most common choice.
- 3Performance-Heavy — Lower base pay (25%), higher tier bonuses. Best when you want to maximize incentive for top performance.
- 4Pure Performance — Minimal base pay (10%), maximum tier bonuses. For campaigns where you're willing to pay premium for premium results.
The Balanced template works well for most campaigns. Use Performance-Heavy or Pure Performance when working with creators who have a strong track record of high performance.
